Product Description
A High-Performance Silicone Air Intake Hose is a critical component of an engine's breathing system, routing fresh or compressed air between the air filter, turbocharger/intercooler (if equipped), throttle body, and intake manifold. Built for both flexibility and dimensional stability, these silicone hoses must withstand wide temperature swings (typically from about -40°F to +400°F) and alternating vacuum/boost conditions (vacuum at idle and boost pressure under load, commonly up to ~50 psi in performance applications).
Typical multi-layer construction includes:
Smooth silicone inner liner engineered to resist heat, oil vapors and minimize airflow friction;
Reinforcement layers such as high-tensile textile braid, aramid/glass fiber wraps or embedded spring helix to prevent collapse under vacuum and contain boost pressure;
Durable outer jacket of silicone or weather-resistant elastomer (EPDM/Silicone blend) to protect against abrasion, ozone, and under-bonnet contaminants while allowing color/branding options.
