The three-way catalytic converter is a key component in the automobile exhaust treatment system, and its main role is to convert harmful substances in the exhaust (such as carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons and nitrogen oxides) into harmless substances
A Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) is a device used to reduce particulate emissions from the exhaust of a diesel engine.
DPF uses high-performance ceramic materials (such as cordierite, silicon carbide) as the carrier, these materials have high heat resistance, corrosion resistance and good mechanical strength, can withstand high temperatures and complex working conditions. For example, silicon carbide (SiC) materials have better heat and thermal conductivity than traditional cordierite, and are more suitable for high load conditions

The installation position of the three-way catalytic converter:
1. Located on the exhaust manifold: that is, the head section of the exhaust pipe, which is one of the most common installation positions of the three-way catalytic converter, is at the connection between the engine exhaust port and the exhaust pipe, and can contact the newly discharged high temperature exhaust gas for the first time, which is convenient for the treatment of harmful gases
2. In the first section of the exhaust manifold drum: generally located under the chassis of the car, from the appearance of the drum similar to the shape of a marching kettle or a long kettle, this position can make the three-way catalytic converter work in a more stable airflow environment, which is conducive to improving catalytic efficiency.
3. Between the front and back oxygen sensors: the oxygen sensor is used to monitor the oxygen content in the exhaust gas, in order to adjust the fuel injection and combustion state of the engine, the three-way catalytic converter between the front and back oxygen sensors can better play a catalytic role according to the feedback signal of the oxygen sensor to ensure the conversion effect of harmful substances in the exhaust gas.
