The function of the brake caliper
* Receiving Instructions : Receive the pressure (hydraulic oil pressure or compressed air pressure) transmitted from the brake master cylinder (hydraulic system) or brake valve (pneumatic system).
* Energy conversion: Convert the received fluid pressure into mechanical force of linear motion.
* Push friction elements : Utilizing the generated mechanical force, directly push the brake pads (on disc brakes) to clamp the brake disc, or push the brake shoes (on drum brakes) to open and press the brake drum.
* Generating braking force : Through the friction between the friction plates and the brake discs/drums, the kinetic energy of the vehicle is converted into thermal energy, thereby achieving deceleration or stopping.
